Hans-Jürgen "Hansi" Bargfrede (born March 10, 1959 in Zeven ) is a former German football player on the position of midfielder . Since the end of his career as an active player, he has been active as a football coach .

Career

Bargfrede played with the amateurs of Werder Bremen in the late 1970s . In the 1978/79 season he was also a member of the Bremen professional squad, but remained there except for two games in the 1978 Intertoto Cup . He then played in the second team again until he moved to FC St. Pauli in 1981 . There he reached the peak of his career. He played a total of 111 games for Hamburg, including 13 first division games in 1988/89 and another two first division games in 1989/90 . In the 2-2 draw against Hannover 96 , he scored his only Bundesliga goal on October 29, 1988.

After he was no longer regularly used in the Bundesliga at St. Pauli, Bargfrede moved to SC Preußen Münster in 1990 , for which he played six second division games. During his time at Preußen Münster he suffered various injuries, and on April 14, 1990, Bargfrede played his last game as an active player in the home game against SC Freiburg , before ending his career at the age of 31.

After the end of his career, Bargfrede coached the TuS Heeslingen and the C-youth selection of the Lower Saxony Football Association . He currently looks after the B-youth team at FC St. Pauli and also runs a sports shop in Zeven.
