Hans-Jürgen Cramer

Hans-Jürgen Cramer (born March 18, 1951 in Emden ) was CEO of Vattenfall Europe AG .

Life

Cramer completed a commercial apprenticeship before studying business administration and psychology . In 1985, Hans-Jürgen Cramer became head of training at Bewag . From 1990 he also became a member of the company's management. Three years later, Cramer became head of organizational and personnel development at Bewag. He became a member of the supervisory board in 1997. From 1998 he was head of corporate development before joining the Bewag board in the following year with the departments of personnel, heating and labor director . At Vattenfall Europe AG , Cramer became a member of the board of directors for heating, information technology and sales in 2002 and was also the spokesman for the board of Bewag until March 1, 2003. In 2004 he joined the joint board of Hamburgische Electricitäts-Werke and Bewag. He retained his position at Vattenfall. In July 2007, he became CEO of Vattenfall Europe, succeeding Klaus Rauscher . After a transition phase that lasted only a few months, during which Cramer was spokesman for the board, he was replaced by the Finns Tuomo Hatakka on January 1, 2008 . Cramer left Vattenfall at his own request on June 30, 2008. Since September 1, 2010, Hans-Jürgen Cramer has headed the German Climate Innovation Center of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) in Berlin.
