Hans-Jürgen Kaiser

Hans-Jürgen Kaiser (born March 10, 1959 in Leimen (Palatinate) ) is a German organist .

Life

After studying school music at the Heidelberg-Mannheim University of Music and Catholic Church Music at the University of Mainz , he went on to study at the Saarland University of Music , which he completed with the concert qualification examination for the organ.

Since 1989 Kaiser has been the cathedral organist at the High Cathedral in Fulda . He is also the organ representative in the diocese of Fulda , artistic director of the organ concerts and matinees in the cathedral of Fulda and various concert series in the diocese ( BACH 2000 , organs , monuments of their time , organ tour 2004 )

Since 1990 he has been teaching improvisation / liturgical organ playing and organ literature playing with the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where he has been teaching organ improvisation as a university professor since 1995.

After an initial intensive preoccupation with French and German romantic organ music, the organ works of Bach and Messiaen , Kaiser's repertoire spectrum later expanded significantly in the direction of early music. The basis for this is also his special interest in historical organ building. In addition, improvisation is an essential part of the concert programs.

Hans-Jürgen Kaiser has released numerous CD recordings ( Liszt , Reger , Bach , Eben and others) on important organs and has been doing a lively concert career at home and abroad, combined with courses in organ improvisation.
