Athletic career

In 1971, the 24-year-old soccer striker Hans-Jürgen Nasarek became champion of the Schwerin district league with the company sports association (BSG) Chemie / Motor Veritas Wittenberge . The BSG qualified for the second-class GDR league at the same time . In his first GDR league season in 1971/72 Nasarek was a regular player from the start and with his 15 goals he became the top scorer of the BSG and together with Jürgen Hähnchen from the BSG Lokomotive Bergen top scorer of the league season A. C / M Veritas was able to get into hold the GDR league. Until 1976, Nasarek played all 22 league games in every season and was, with the exception of the 1974/75 season, the Wittenberger's top scorer every time. In 1977 the BSG C / M Veritas had to relegate back to the district league. With Nasarek, who is now 30 years old, the team became district champions again and immediately returned to the GDR league. Of the 107 district leagues, Nasarek scored 37 goals and was the BSG's second-best goalscorer behind his teammate Kurt Behnisch . 1978/79 Nasarek played his last GDR league season. As team captain of BSG C / M Veritas, he was used again in 18 of the 22 league games and was still an accurate striker with nine goals. He was one of the goalscorers of his team in all of his seven GDR league seasons and scored a total of 74 goals in 148 league games.
