Hans-Jakob Tebarth

Hans-Jakob Tebarth (born November 29, 1957 in Schaephuysen, Niederrhein ) is a German historian .

Life

After attending the Catholic elementary school in Schaephuysen and the Adolfinum grammar school in Moers , Tebarth studied Modern , Middle and Eastern European history as well as geography at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf (1st state examination, MA and doctorate there). From 1986 to 1991 Tebarth worked on research projects at the University of Cologne and the Heinrich Heine University on Eastern European and East Central European history. From 1991 to 2001 Tebarth was a research assistant and most recently managing director of the Cultural Foundation of German Expellees in Bonn, 2001/2002 member of the support team of the German Cultural Forum for Eastern Europe. V.

From 2002, Tebarth initially acted as deputy director of the Martin Opitz Library Foundation in Herne. In 2012 he took over the post of director of the foundation.

In 2004 he became editor of the magazine Bibliothek und Medien. Announcements from the Working Group of Libraries and Documentation Centers for East, East Central and Southeast European Studies e. V. He is also a board member of ABDOS and the Digital Forum Mittel- und Osteuropa e. V. Tebarth publishes mainly on historical and library topics and has edited or edited numerous works - mainly with Christof Dahm .
