Hans-Joachim Geisthardt

Hans-Joachim Geisthardt (born August 16, 1925 near Stettin ; † September 20, 2007 ) was a German composer .

He received his musical training at the Rostock University of Music and at the Berlin University of Music with Rudolf Wagner-Régeny , Hanns Eisler and Carl Adolph Martienssen . From 1953 to 1958 he was Eisler's assistant at the Berliner Ensemble , where he directed the children's choir, among other things. He then worked as a music dramaturge and director and later in leading positions in music production at the radio in the GDR . His work includes songs, choirs, songs, chansons, piano, chamber and orchestral works.
