Hans-Joachim Musielak

Hans-Joachim Musielak (born December 28, 1933 in Berlin ) is a German legal scholar.

Life

Musielak was born in Berlin in 1933 . After graduating from high school in Bückeburg , he studied law at the University of Cologne , where he passed his legal traineeship in 1958 . After receiving his doctorate from the University of Cologne and completing his assessor exam , he worked at the Federal Ministry of Economics . In 1973 he joined the Federal Ministry of Education and Science , where he last headed the Vocational Education Department as Ministerialrat . During this period he completed his habilitation at the University of Cologne (with Gerhard Kegel ) and received the venia legendi for civil law and civil procedural law .

In 1978 Musielak was appointed full professor at the newly founded University of Passau , where he held a professorship until he was relieved of his duties in 2002 and where he was vice-president from 1982 to 1985. He had turned down a call to the University of Marburg in 1982. His successor to the chair was Wolfgang Hau . In 2004 he was honored with a festschrift on the occasion of his 70th birthday .
