From 1980 to 1994 he served as Oberlandeskirchenrat personnel department head in Landeskirchenamt Hannover ( Lutheran Evangelical Church of Hanover ).

Career

Rauer grew up in Landeshut , Silesia . After the expulsion (1946) he graduated from the Johanneum Lüneburg in 1952 with the Abitur. From 1952 to 1957 he studied theology in Bethel , Tübingen and Göttingen . In 1957 he was vicar at the superintendent of the parish of Herzberg / Harz. This was followed by training in the preacher's seminary at Loccum Monastery from 1958 to 1960 . After various positions as pastor ( Jacobidrebber (1960-1965), St. Sylvester, Quakenbrück (1965-1971)) and superintendent ( Buer and Melle (1971-1977)), he was appointed to the Oberlandeskirchenrat in the regional church office in Hanover in 1977. Here he took over the management of the personnel department in 1980, which he held until his retirement in 1994. For many years he was active in the governing bodies of diaconal institutions. The memories he wrote in retirement reflect his career in the context of church and social change. In addition, he, himself a displaced person from the former Silesia, devoted himself to the history of the displaced persons in the Hanover regional church and the reconciliation with the current residents of his hometown Landeshut, today's Kamienna Góra . Rauer has been married to Gerda, b. Meier. The couple have four children.
