Hans-Joachim Simm

Hans-Joachim Simm (born December 8, 1946 in Braunschweig ) is a German writer and editor .

Life

After studying classical philology , German studies and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich Simm from 1972 lecturer in classics editions and was literature in the Carl Hanser Verlag Munich . After graduating as Dr. phil. with Friedrich Sengle , Hermann Krings and Hans-Friedrich Rosenfeld and after teaching positions at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Simm moved to Suhrkamp Verlag Frankfurt am Main in 1984 , where he was in charge of the library of German classics. In 1990 he took over the editing of the Insel Verlag , in 2001 the program management, in 2006 the publishing director and at the same time the management of the publishing house of world religions and the book series "edition unseld ". In addition, Simm took on teaching assignments at the universities of Frankfurt and Mainz , published numerous editions of works and anthologies, and wrote radio broadcasts on cultural-historical topics. Since the end of 2010 he has been working as a freelance writer.
