Hans-Joachim Tonnellier

Hans-Joachim Tonnellier (born March 13, 1948 in Saarlouis ) is a German bank manager and former chairman of the board of the Frankfurter Volksbank .

Life

After completing secondary school, Hans-Joachim Tonnellier attended commercial school from 1965 to 1967 and trained as a banker at the Kreissparkasse Saarbrücken from 1967 to 1969 . From 1969 to 1970 he was branch manager at Saar Bank in Saarbrücken . After attending Meersburg College, he studied at the banking academy from 1972 to 1974 and graduated as a banking specialist.

From 1971 to 1977 he was head of the central credit secretariat at DG Bank in Frankfurt am Main , and from 1977 to 1981 head of the Frankfurt branch of ADCA Bank.

From March 1, 1981, he was initially a deputy, from July 1, 1983 a full board member and from 1997 to April 2012 Chairman of the Board of Management of Frankfurter Volksbank eG. During his tenure, Frankfurter Volksbank took over 13 cooperative banks in the region and made Frankfurter Volksbank the second largest institute in the cooperative banking sector. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2012 and has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Frankfurter Volksbank since 2014.

Hans-Joachim Tonnellier is a member of the supervisory boards of Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall AG and Münchener Hypothekenbank eG.

Volunteering

Hans-Joachim Tonnellier is a member of the supervisory boards of Nestlé Deutschland GmbH and Frankfurt Ticket GmbH. He is a board member at Frankfurt Main Finance. He holds a nursing office at the Hospital for the Holy Spirit Foundation, Frankfurt. At the Frankfurt Society for Trade, Industry and Science e. V. he is treasurer.

Hans-Joachim Tonnellier is a member of the board of trustees of the Association of Friends and Supporters of the University of Frankfurt , the association “Frankfurter Domkonzerte e. V. ”, the Senckenberg Natural Research Society, the Sankt Georgen University of Applied Sciences and the Giersch charitable foundation. From 1999 to 2004 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation

He has been a member of the Königsteiner Forum advisory board since 1997, and at Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH in Langen since 2003 . He is also a member of the advisory board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, head office in Frankfurt and the interest group of Frankfurt credit institutions and the WM group.

From June 2007 to April 2009 Hans-Joachim Tonnellier was President of the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce .

Since 2010 Tonnellier has been chairman of the board of the Friends of the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen .

Hans-Joachim Tonnellier is a member of the Rotary Club Frankfurt / Main-Friedensbrücke. He is also one of the editors of the magazine "Immobilien undfinanzierung" published by Helmut Richardi GmbH, Frankfurt am Main.

Awards

In March 2007 he received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon . On March 17, 2009, he received the plaque of honor from the city of Frankfurt am Main . The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Frankfurt am Main awarded him the plaque of honor on September 28, 2011. In 2003 he was awarded the Golden Ring of Honor by the Rhine-Main Chamber of Crafts. On April 25, 2012 he was awarded the Hessian Order of Merit and the Raiffeisen / Schulze-Delitzsch Medal in gold. The Frankfurter Volksbank awarded him the Golden Badge of Honor.

Pope Benedict XVI honored Tonnellier on November 28, 2012 with the Papal Order of Gregorius (Knight) for his commitment to church and economy, especially for the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen.
