Hans-Jost Frey

Hans-Jost Frey (* 1933 in Zurich ) is a Swiss literary scholar and writer . He was a professor of comparative literature at the University of Zurich .

Life

Hans-Jost Frey received his doctorate in 1962 with a linguistic study on the Venetian dialects supervised by Konrad Huber . From 1970 to 1976 he was Professor of French Literature at the University of Zurich , then from 1976 to 1998 Professor of Comparative Literature there. Frey is the author of literary theoretical and literary texts. From the turn of the millennium, his works were almost exclusively published by Urs Engeler's publishing houses . He is married to Eleonore Frey .
