Franz Josef Czernin
Franz Josef Czernin (born January 7, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer . He comes from the Bohemian noble family Czernin von Chudenitz .
Life
Czernin passed the Matura in 1971 and studied from 1971 to 1973 at Indiana University . After that he lived in different places in Austria, since 1980 mainly in Rettenegg (Styria).
Czernin wrote aphorisms, prose (including theoretical and critical works), as well as dramatic works, but above all experimental poetry influenced by the Viennese group . He also dealt with traditional forms of poetry such as sonnets , terzines and sestines .
In 1987, together with Ferdinand Schmatz , he published a volume at Residenz Verlag , for which the two deliberately wrote inferior poems, as stated in the immediately following revelation book. They did this to question the publisher's judgment criteria and the Austrian literary scene.
Since 2008 Czernin has been a member of the Darmstadt German Academy for Language and Poetry . In Austria he belongs to the artists' association MAERZ .
