Heimrad baker prize
The Heimrad-Bäcker-Preis is a literary award that was donated by the Austrian writer and publisher Heimrad Bäcker with the proceeds from the sale of his literary estate to the literary archive of the Austrian National Library together with his wife Margret Bäcker. It is awarded annually by the Heimrad Bäcker Interest Group as the Heimrad Bäcker Prize (endowed with EUR 8,000) and as a promotional award for the Heimrad Bäcker Prize (endowed with EUR 3,500) and is intended to honor and promote authors whose work has the aesthetic orientation of the edition new texts , as Heimrad Bäcker published them, is related. The Heimrad-Bäcker-Prizes are therefore the only Austrian prizes that are so decidedly awarded to promote literature from the context of what can be regarded as experimental poetry. Since 2016, the "neue-texte-Essaypreis", initially privately donated, has also been awarded for remarkable literary essay writing.
