Hans-Otto Günther

Hans-Otto Günther (born April 28, 1948 in Gelsenkirchen ) is an Austrian economist. He was head of the production management department at the Technical University of Berlin .

Life

Günther studied from 1966 to 1971 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the University of Saarbrücken . He received his doctorate from 1976–1981 at the Free University of Berlin and from 1982–1988 worked at the University of Mannheim , where he also completed his habilitation. From 1993 until his retirement in 2014 he was head of the production management department at the Technical University of Berlin .

Günther has published in international journals, including the Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung , Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft , OR Spectrum , the International Journal of Production Economics and the International Journal of Production Research . In the Handelsblatt Betriebswirte-Ranking 2009, which analyzes the research performance of 2,100 business economists in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland based on the quality of publications since 2005, it was ranked 80th.
