Hans-Peter Junker

Hans-Peter Junker (born June 30, 1964 in Offenburg ) is a German journalist . He was editor-in-chief of View from 2008 to 2020 and has been deputy editor-in-chief since 2018 and editor-in-chief of Gala since 2019 .

After completing his studies at the German School of Journalism in Munich , Junker was a reporter, editor and deputy head of reporting at the Münchner Abendzeitung , chief reporter at Bunter, and head of culture and entertainment at Tango magazine . In 1997 he became deputy head of culture and entertainment at Stern and in 2001 he became head of news there. In 2005 he also developed the magazine View together with Tom Jacobi , of which he became editor-in-chief in 2008. In March 2013 he became deputy to the new Stern editor-in-chief Dominik Wichmann . When Wichmann was replaced by Christian Krug on October 1, 2014 , Junker also left the Stern's editorial team. In addition to serving as editor-in-chief of View, he became deputy editor-in-chief of Gala in February 2018 and also editor-in-chief in December 2019. In July 2020, he resigned as editor-in-chief of View.
