Hans-Peter Krämer (born January 8, 1941 in Kiel ) is Chairman of the Board of the German Children's Cancer Aid Foundation . and has been involved in various German Cancer Aid bodies for around 25 years. As long-time chairman of the foundation board, the supervisory body of cancer aid, he handed over this office to his successor, the lawyer Joachim Faber, in December 2019 . Krämer is a former business manager and studied business administration . From 2006 to 2014, he was Vice President of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), responsible for economics and finance. In 2013 he led the DOSB for a few months as acting president. He also holds a number of different offices in business and sports.

Offices and functions

Until the end of 2014, Krämer held the honorary position of chairman of the board of the German Cancer Aid, whereby, according to his own statements, commitment to the aid organization has become a main concern. During his first appearance in the ZDF benefit gala “Welcome to Carmen Nebel ” in aid of cancer aid, Krämer called on the public to fight cancer in the live broadcast on September 25, 2010.

In addition, Krämer is involved as chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Sport-Marketing GmbH (DSM).

On August 14, 2008, he resigned from his position as a member of the Supervisory Board of VfL Gummersbach . Until 2007 he was the chairman of the same body.

Reforms in awards and honors

In 2010, as chairman of the board of the German Cancer Aid, Krämer reformed the science award that had been given to her with the aim of honoring more performers in the fight against this widespread disease in the future . For example, the German Cancer Aid Prize 2009 was presented for the first time on December 13, 2010 at a public ceremony in the Bonn Redoute to two personalities who each helped to set up a self-help group and have been involved in cancer self-help for decades. Professional career

Krämer has had a varied professional career. Until January 2006 he was also CEO of the Kreissparkasse Köln . After 15 years in the top position of the third largest German savings bank , he retired. He completed his business administration studies from 1960 to 1965 at the University of Cologne . He was already working as a student trainee in the Cologne district savings bank. Immediately after graduating, he became a loan officer at the bank. In 1969 he became deputy head and two years later head of the credit department. In 1973 he became a department director. At the beginning of 1979 he was appointed deputy board member and on September 1 of the same year he was appointed full board member. In December 1990 he succeeded Dr. Hans-Joachim Möhle CEO of the Kreissparkasse Köln.
