Hans Adolf Halbey

Hans Adolf Halbey (born August 19, 1922 in St. Wendel / Saar; † May 8, 2003 in Mainz ) was a doctor of German studies, German poet and poet, museum director and author of children's books.

After a study of the history of art , the history and the book buyer at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz 1947-1955 doctorate Halbey 1955 Dr. phil. After a brief activity as marketing manager at a type foundry , he was director of the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach am Main , a museum for modern book and script art, from 1957 to 1977 . At the same time he taught at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1971 to 1990 , where he was appointed honorary professor in 1978 .

Hans Adolf Halbey became prominent through his own children's books and those translated from foreign languages, through the scientific treatment of such books as a separate genre, and through publications on book studies.
