Hans Albert Rooschüz (born April 10, 1865 in Bern ; † July 1, 1919 there ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and co-founder of the Schweizer Chocoladen & Colonialhaus , the parent company of Merkur Aktiengesellschaft , from which the later Valora Holding AG emerged .

Life

Hans Albert Rooschüz was born on April 10, 1865 in Bern as the son of the Stuttgart merchant Georg Albert Ludwig Rooschüz. In the winter semester of 1883/84 he began studying engineering at the Technical University of Berlin-Charlottenburg and in the same semester he became active at Corps Saxonia-Berlin. After studying and completing his commercial training, he joined his father's beverage company Müller & Rooschüz and took over its management. With a group of innovative entrepreneurs, he founded the Swiss Chocoladen & Colonialhaus in Olten in 1905 , which under the management of Rooschüz expanded rapidly as Merkur AG until his death in 1919 and built up a network of 130 sales outlets across the country. The Merkur AG was the predecessor company of today's Valora Holding AG.

Hans Albert Rooschüz owned the company law on Middle Lions .
