Hans Aron

Hans Aron (born August 19, 1881 in Berlin ; died December 11, 1958 in Chicago ) was a German doctor .

Life

He was the son of Jacques Aron from Berlin. After visiting the Friedrichswerder school and high school in Berlin light field Hans Aron took in 1899 to study chemistry at the University of Munich, which he in 1903 at the University of Berlin through the doctorate Dr. phil. completed. He then stayed at the University of Berlin and studied medicine there for five years. During this time he worked from 1905 to 1907 as an assistant at the Animal Physiological Institute of the Agricultural University in Berlin. In 1908 he graduated as Dr. med. and received his license to practice medicine in 1911.

A few years after Manila, Hans Aron was appointed professor at the Philippine Medical School on behalf of the US government . In 1912 he returned to the German Reich and went to the University Children's Hospital in Breslau as laboratory manager . After the outbreak of the First World War, he was drafted into the military. He used the little free time to work on his habilitation, which he successfully defended in Breslau in 1917. In 1919 he founded the children's department at the Jewish Hospital in Wroclaw, which he took over until 1935. At the same time he also worked as a sports doctor.

In 1920 he was appointed associate professor for pediatric medicine at the University of Wroclaw . After the seizure of power by the Nazis, it became increasingly difficult for him to remain in the public service. In 1938 he emigrated to the USA with his family. There he acquired the Medical License in 1939 and practiced as a pediatrician and sports doctor in Chicago.

He married Julie, née Cohn, daughter of a district judge who also worked as a pediatrician in Breslau between 1914 and 1938.
