Hans B. Jessen

Hans Bernhard Jessen (born August 3, 1909 in Kiel , † March 26, 2007 in Berlin ) was a German classical archaeologist .

He studied classical archeology and received his doctorate in 1938 at the University of Kiel under Eduard Schmidt with a thesis on God and Animals . Until 1974 he was a research assistant at the headquarters of the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin.

In addition to Greek art, his research area was mainly the history of science in the 19th century.
