Hans Brachmann
Hans Brachmann (born December 14, 1891 in Zwentendorf an der Donau , † April 19, 1969 in Tulln an der Donau ) was an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Austria (SDAP).
Professional
After attending the elementary school in Zwentendorf and the community school in Tulln, Brachmann went to the five-year state teacher training college in Sankt Pölten , which he completed with a high school diploma. In 1914 he was qualified to teach at elementary schools, and in 1917 he was also qualified to teach at community schools. Hans Brachmann studied economics at the Lower Austrian Teachers' Academy for a few semesters . In 1934 Brachmann retired.
Political functions
Brachmann was mayor of Zwentendorf. From May 19, 1926 to May 17, 1927 he was a member of the Federal Council and from May 18, 1927 to February 17, 1934 then a member of the National Council in the First Republic . In 1945 Brachmann had a seat in the provisional Lower Austrian provincial government. After the Second World War, from December 19, 1945 to November 8, 1949, he was again a member of the National Council, this time in the Second Republic. Between 1949 and 1957 Brachmann was a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag and Provincial Council.
He was also a member of the state party executive committee of the SPÖ Lower Austria and a member of the federal party executive committee of the SPÖ.
During the tenure of Hans Brachmann as mayor of Zwentendorf, the town hall was rebuilt. The model was that of Rothenburg ob der Tauber .
Other functions
Brachmann was Vice President of the Lower Austrian Provincial School Board.

- 1955: Large Silver Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria
- 1960: Silver Commander's Cross with the Star of Honor for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria
- The secondary school in Zwentendorf is also known as the Hans Brachmann secondary school .
