Hans Brachrogge

Hans Brachrogge (* around 1590, † after 1638) was a Danish musician and composer.

Life

Brachrogge came to the court of King Christian IV as a choirboy . He learned from the court organist Melchior Borchgrevinck . From 1602 to 1604 he was a student of Giovanni Gabrieli in Venice . In 1611 he became the singer of the court orchestra. From 1611 to 1614 he went on a study trip to England with Mogens Pedersøn and Jacob Ørn . On his return in 1619 he gave the Madrigaletti a 3 voci. Libro primo out. An apparently planned second volume has probably never appeared. In 1621 he was given a position in Roskilde , but was continued as a member of the court orchestra until 1638.
