Hans Brockmann (chemist, 1936)

Hans Brockmann (born August 23, 1936 in Göttingen ; † December 24, 2019 ) was a German chemist and professor at Bielefeld University .

Brockmann's father was the chemist Hans Heinrich Brockmann . After studying chemistry in Freiburg and Göttingen, he received his doctorate in 1963 from the Georg-August University in Göttingen. His dissertation dealt with the topic "To the knowledge of the anthracyclinones".

Other stations in his work were Stanford University and the Technical University of Braunschweig . There he completed his habilitation in 1970 on the subject of "On the stereochemistry of chlorophylls ".

From 1975 Brockmann taught at Bielefeld University. There he worked on bacteriochlorophylls and adhesive chemistry .

Awards

1996 Plaque of honor " Jan Evangelista Purkyně ", Institut f. Organic chemistry and biochemistry from the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic .
