Hans Ebert (politician)

Richard Karl Hans Ebert (born June 16, 1889 in Hörde ; † January 26, 1967 in Düsseldorf ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a teacher , Ebert studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau . During his studies in 1908 he became a member of the Teutonia Freiburg fraternity . After exams, legal clerkship and doctorate to become Dr. jur. In 1916 he became an assistant judge in Elberfeld and Remscheid and a municipal councilor. In 1924 he was elected Second Mayor of Altona for a twelve-year term . He belonged to the German Democratic Party (DDP), for which he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Provincial Parliament in 1927 and 1929 . In 1933 he was removed from office by the National Socialists and retired.
