Hans Florine
Hans Florine (born June 18, 1964 in Fort Lee , Virginia ), also known as Hollywood Hans , is an American speed and free climber . He lives in Moraga , California .
On October 12, 2008, he and Yuji Hirayama needed 2 hours, 37 minutes and 5 seconds to climb the route The Nose on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park . This record was beaten on November 6, 2010 by Sean Leary and Dean Potter with a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes and 45 seconds. In June 2012, Hans Florine and Alex Honnold were able to improve the fastest time to 2:23:46.
Hans Florine won the first World Climbing Championship in speed climbing in Frankfurt in 1991 , and he was unbeaten at the X Games in speed climbing from 1995 to 2000.
