Hans Giessen

Hans Giessen (* 1962 in Landau in the Palatinate ) is a university lecturer and publicist.

Life

Hans Giessen studied in Berlin ( FU ), Saarbrücken and Metz , France . He received his doctorate from Saarland University . He initially worked as a journalist and publicist, including as a reporter and editor for the Second German Television in Saarbrücken and Luxembourg . After receiving a grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG), he received his habilitation at Saarland University and was appointed professor . As part of a DFG project, he worked for two years at the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg . From 2011 to 2014 he was employed as a professor in Częstochowa ( Poland ), since 2015 he has been working at the University of Helsinki ( Finland ), and since 2018 he has also been a professor at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (Poland).
