Hans Gruner (geologist)

Hans Gruner (born September 29, 1841 in Dresden , † 1917 in Potsdam ) was a German university professor of geology and mineralogy .

Career

From 1869 to 1881 Gruner was a teacher for the mineralogical disciplines at the Agricultural Academy in Proskau . When this institute was relocated to Berlin in 1881 and merged with the Berlin Agricultural University , Gruner became a full professor of geology and soil science at the Berlin Agricultural University. He headed the mineralogical-pedological institute of the agricultural university in Berlin in Invalidenstrasse in Mitte.

Gruner held the title of a secret government council.

At the age of 70, Gruner retired on April 1, 1912. He died in Potsdam in 1917 at the age of around 75.
