Hans Hartl (born May 17, 1858 in Reichenberg ; † October 11, 1939 there ) was an Austrian - Bohemian politician ( German People's Party ), mathematician and physicist. He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives from 1911 to 1918 and a member of the Czechoslovak Senate from 1925 to 1928 .

Life

Hans Hartl was born as the son of a businessman in Reichenberg and studied at the Technical University from 1875. At the same time he was a listener of mathematics and physics lectures at the German University in Prague. In 1881 he passed the state examination for teaching in mathematics and physics and subsequently did his military service as a one-year volunteer with the Feldjäger Battalion 2. In December 1882 he was appointed lieutenant in the reserve. He taught from 1882 as a trial candidate at the state trade school in Reichenberg, was appointed teacher in 1883 and in 1885 as a real teacher. In 1888 he was appointed professor. After a short time as the inspector of the commercial advanced training schools in Lower Austria, he returned in 1907 as director of the state trade school in Reichenberg. Hartl remained in his position as director of the state trade school until 1913. He wrote numerous, widespread textbooks and also made a name for himself through the experimental arrangements and lecture apparatus he designed and built. He is one of the co-founders of the technology of the modern, exact lecture hall test and was, among other things, an employee of the "Journal for physical and chemical teaching" and the "Journal for secondary schools".

Hartl was a member of the German People's Party and took the place of his party colleague Heinrich Prade in the electoral district of Bohmen 76 in the Reichsrat election in 1911 , where he was able to prevail against the Social Democrat candidate Karl Schiller in the first ballot. He was a member of the House of Representatives between 1911 and 1918 and belonged to the German-Bohemian state government during the collapse of the monarchy in 1918. He also represented the German National Party in the Czechoslovak Senate between 1920 and 1928 . In addition to his textbooks, Hartl also wrote political essays.
