Hans Hibler

Hans Hibler (born May 28, 1933 ) is a German mountain rescuer . He invented the Hibler heat pack named after him as a first aid measure for hypothermia .

Hans Hibler has been involved in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen mountain rescue service since 1949 . After eleven active years as a full-time mountain guard from 1955 to 1966, he was an instructor in mountain rescue and dog trainer for four decades. At the international level he is a member of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue .

Hibler received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1980 .
