Hans Hinterhäuser

Hans Hinterhäuser (born February 12, 1919 in Alzenau , † October 6, 2005 in Vienna ) was a German Romanist .

life and work

Hinterhäuser attended the humanistic high school in Aschaffenburg until he graduated from high school in 1937 . From 1937 to 1945 he did military and war service. Then he studied German and Romance studies in Munich and Würzburg and received his doctorate in 1949 at the University of Heidelberg with the work Utopism and Reality at Diderot. Studies on the "Supplément au Voyage de Bougainville" (published ud T. Utopie und Reality by Diderot , Heidelberg, Winter, 1957). From 1949 to 1953 he was lecturer for German in Venice, from 1957 to 1958 in Madrid. From 1954 to 1960 he was a lecturer in Romance studies at the University of Bonn . He completed his habilitation in 1960 at the University of Hamburg with the work Die Episodios nacionales by Benito Pérez Galdós (Hamburg, De Gruyter, 1961; Spanish, Madrid 1963). From 1962 to 1968, Hinterhäuser was a full professor for Romance philology in Kiel , then in Bonn and finally in Vienna until his retirement .
