Hans-Friedrich Honsel (born March 3, 1910 , † between March and September 1977 ) was a German smelter and manufacturer.

Life

Hans Honsel was born as the son of the factory owner Fritz Honsel . He attended the Pädagogium Godesberg , a boarding school, and became a member of the rowing club Pädagogium Godesberg 09 eV , which later made him an honorary member. He then studied metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University . In the winter semester 1930/31 he joined the Corps Montania Aachen. In the winter semester of 1935/36 he graduated as a Dipl.-Ing. and joined his father's company, Honsel-Werke AG in Meschede. In 1938 he received power of attorney. He later became a board member and co-owner. At the end of the Second World War, the Honsel works were badly damaged and the British occupation authorities intended to be completely dismantled. From 1948 onwards, together with his father and brother Kurt, he succeeded in rebuilding the works into a leading company for light metal castings and in expanding the field of activity of manufacturing aluminum profiles. In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, Honsel was both inventive and engineering. In 1962 he was at the age of 52 years at the Technical University of Munich Dr.-Ing. PhD. As chairman of the association for many years, Honsel was one of the mentors at the University of Applied Sciences in Meschede .
