Hans Huyssen

Hans Huyssen (born February 11, 1964 in Pretoria , South Africa ) is a South African-German composer .

Life

He began his studies at the University of Stellenbosch Conservatory . At the end of the 1980s he became a student of Gerhard Wimberger at the Mozarteum Music University in Salzburg. He finished his composition studies with a master class with Hans-Jürgen von Bose at the State University for Music and Theater in Munich . He also took courses with Luciano Berio and George Crumb . At the same time he works as a baroque cellist.

So far he has received orders and a. from the Munich Chamber Orchestra , the Siemens Kulturstiftung, the Pro Helvetia Foundation , Deutsche Welle etc.

Since 2005 he has been Senior Lecturer in Historical Performance Practice at the University of the Freestate in Bloemfontein .
