Hans Imhoff (writer)
Hans Imhoff (born February 16, 1939 in Langenhain ) is a German action artist and philosophical writer .
Life
Hans Imhoff was a philosophical student (and critic) of Theodor W. Adornos and from 1967 an action artist within the West German student movement . In his media-effective provocations, then in leaflets and later in books, he caricatured the theoretical language of the 1968 movement and re-functionalized it.
Since then, a comprehensive poetic-philosophical essayistic work has emerged that largely eludes common categories. Imhoff makes almost no efforts to distribute his books, most of which were published as bibliophile editions in the Euphorion Verlag , which existed until the end of 2003 . Newer works are published as private prints under the sign of Geistphilosophisches Privatissimum .
There are no family ties to the chocolate manufacturer of the same name.
Imhoff lives in Frankfurt am Main .
