Hans Jürgen Wulff

Hans Jürgen "James" Wulff (* 18th December 1951 in Osnabrück ) is a German media researcher and emeritus professor of media studies at the Institute of Literature at the University of Kiel .

Life

Hans Jürgen Wulff worked for a long time as a filmmaker and political adult educator. In addition to his academic training as a linguist , philosopher and pedagogue , Wulff was director of the Ibbenbüren municipal cinema from 1978 to 1986 and also managed the introductory phase of the local television channel "kanal 4" in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Wulff is the editor of various magazines and co-editor of the film and media studies book series . He is a founding member of the Münster working group for semiotics and was a board member of the German Society for Film and Television Studies. He is a co-founder of the Film and Television Studies Colloquium , a specialist conference that has been held annually at different universities since 1988.
