Hans Joachim Berthold

Hans Joachim Berthold (born May 9, 1923 ; also Hans-Joachim Berthold ) is a German chemist and university professor .

Life

Hans Joachim Berthold received his doctorate on August 5, 1952 at the University of Cologne with a thesis on the sulfides of sodium and potassium .

On November 18, 1960, Berthold completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Mainz on the subject of the structure of perchlorodimethyl trisulfide .

From 1966 to 1970 Berthold worked as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Mainz .

In 1970 Berthold was appointed full professor at the then Technical University in Hanover , where he worked until 1991, most recently as director at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry. In 1977 he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics.
