Hans Joachim Schröder

Hans Joachim Schröder (born October 2, 1944 in Hohenholz near Bad Oldesloe) is a German biography researcher, literary scholar, cultural scientist and writer.

Life

Schröder first completed his studies in architecture in Braunschweig with an intermediate diploma. He then studied literature , art history and linguistics in Hamburg . In 1976 he received his doctorate with a study on the reflection of the Austrian writer Heimito von Doderer . In 1977/78 he worked as a research assistant at the Museum of Hamburg History . From 1978 to 1988 he worked at the University of Hamburg on a project to research the life stories of big city dwellers. In 1989 he completed his habilitation with a study of the life history experience of team soldiers in World War II. From 1992 to 1997 he carried out a project on biography research at the University of Bremen . After completing a research project on the subject of "Technology as a Biographical Experience", he was a member of the cultural and technological research group at the University of Hamburg until 2009. Since 2005 he has also been working as a freelance biography writer.
