Hans Jungbluth

Hans Jungbluth (born November 14, 1894 in Düsseldorf , † April 14, 1966 in Karlsruhe ) was a German casting technician.

Life

Hans Jungbluth studied, obtained his doctorate and qualified as a Dr.-Ing. habil. at the Technical University of Aachen .

From 1922 to 1941 he worked in Essen for Friedrich Krupp AG in the research facility, in the steel center and finally as head of the foundry. He married Maria Heller and their son Georg was born in 1928 . Around 1940 he was chief engineer and authorized representative of the cast steel factory.

In 1941 he became honorary professor at the TH Aachen. In 1943 he followed a call to the chair for mechanical technology at the Technical University of Karlsruhe , as the successor to Arthur Kessner (1879–1941). This also made him director of the Institute for Mechanical Technology and Materials Testing. In 1947/48 Hans Jungbluth was rector of the TH Karlsruhe. In his celebratory speech, given on the occasion of the takeover of the rectorate of the Technische Hochschule Fridericiana Karlsruhe on January 24th, 1948, he declared: “West Germany will only be able to stay alive through technology, as its own agriculture cannot keep the population alive. “In the summer, after the currency reform and the introduction of the D-Mark, he feared that 70% of students would have to drop out of their studies. In 1965 he retired.
