Hans Kraus-Huebner

Hans Kraus-Hübner , artist name Art Forland , (born October 15, 1941 in Opole ) is a German composer .

Life

At the age of 10 he learned to play the accordion himself and wrote his first compositions for this instrument. At the age of 14 he received piano lessons and after high school he studied school music at the Musikhochschule in Munich . After this degree, he studied musicology at the University of Regensburg with a teaching position for counterpoint .

• Pulsation for large orchestra (first performance 1976 University of Regensburg)
• Rhapsodie Cantabile for mezzo-soprano and orchestra (first performance at the 10th International Nuremberg Human Rights Prize 2005 with the Bad Brückenau Chamber Orchestra under Ulf Klausenitzer ; further performances under J. Blank with the orchestra of the Bavarian Chamber Academy in Erlangen and in the Schwarzenfeld Music Summer)

Oratorios

• Ordo Virtutum a new setting of the texts of Hildegard v. Bingen in cooperation with the Munich group Estampie (first performance 1991 Kloster Bingen; further performances in Munich, Meschede, Augsburg, Heidelberg)
• Turning of times (world premiere 2001 Altdorf)
• Legend of St. Walburga with the texts of the writer Reinhard Knodt (world premiere in 2002 Münster Heidenheim, 2004 in Eichstätt as part of the Franconian Summer)

Opera

• Ganna or the Wahnwelt commissioned by the Stadttheater Fürth for the 1000th anniversary of the city (premiered in 2007 with the libretto by the writer Jörg Gronius. The Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra performed under Frank Strobel)
• Liebesfluch , a psychodrama about the poet Georg Trakl (world premiere 2014 at the Trakl Festival in Salzburg, directed by Bruno Berger-Gorski and conducted by Marino Formenti)
• Oh, how beautiful is Panama , a children's and family opera commissioned by the Dehnberger Hoftheater Lauf and directed by Andrea Mellis (world premiere in 2011. The work was included in the program of the Bonn Opera)

During his teaching activity in Altdorf, he organized a number of jazz courses in cooperation with the MJD (Musical Youth in Germany) and performed with the rock-jazz formation "Ex Ovo Pro", in which the saxophonist Klaus Kreuzeder originally also took part in jazz festivals (including at the Burghausen Jazz Festival ).
