Hans Leyding

Hans Leyding (born May 29, 1913 in Hamburg ; † April 24, 1986 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Leyding completed a commercial apprenticeship in industry. From 1939 to 1945 he did military service and took part in World War II as a soldier . From 1945 to 1951 he worked in Hamburg youth care and welfare. He then switched to the housing industry as an employee and became an authorized signatory of the Neue Heimat company .

Leyding had been active in the socialist movement since 1928 and joined the SPD in 1933. On August 18, 1948, he moved up as a member of the Hamburg parliament, to which he was a member until 1966. His candidacies in the federal elections in 1949 and 1953 were unsuccessful.
