Hans Liebig

Hans Liebig (born October 27, 1878 in Magdeburg , † October 27, 1968 in Bad Honnef ) was a German social democrat .

Life

After attending the seminar school in Erfurt and the trade school in Leipzig, Liebig completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer from 1894 to 1897 and then worked for years as a fitter, fitter and in electricity centers. 1907 to 1909 warehouse keeper, then shipping agent; since 1911 editor at the Free Press in Elberfeld; since 1916 city councilor in Haspe .

Liebig was a member of the German National Assembly in Weimar for the SPD in 1919 .

During the National Socialism Liebig was relieved of his offices and functions, but remained in Germany. He is said to have lived in Herchen (in today's municipality of Windeck ) and ran an inn there.

In 1939 Liebig moved to Honnef (today Bad Honnef). There he was one of the re-founders of the local SPD association after the end of World War II, to which he belonged until his death.
