Hans Mötteli

Hans Mötteli (born June 12, 1897 in Rütli / Zurich; † March 5, 1962 ) was a professor of business administration at the St. Gallen Commercial College .

biography

Mötteli studied at the University of Zurich and received his doctorate there in 1920. He then worked as a tax commissioner at the tax office of the Canton of Zurich . After four years as a commissioner, he went to the Maschinenfabrik Gebr. Sulzer AG , where he worked for fourteen years as an authorized signatory and secretary to the management . Then he was commercial director at the machine tool factory Oerlikon, Bührle & Co. for ten years . At the same time, he took on a teaching position at the University of Zurich for industrial management from 1931 . In 1949 he gave up his well-paid job in industry and in 1949 became a professor at the commercial college in St. Gallen, but continued to work in an advisory capacity for industry.
