Hans Machts (born September 30, 1911 ; † unknown) was a German soccer player who played first division soccer in Erfurt between 1949 and 1953.

Athletic career

When the company sports community (BSG) KWU Erfurt started the first season of the newly founded East German soccer zone league in 1949, the 38-year-old Hans Machts was in the squad as a defender. He was also used immediately in the first league game and completed all 26 league games by the end of the season. He was usually used as a left defender. He was called up in this position in the cup final in 1950 , but had to admit defeat with his team Stahl Thale 4-0. Eight months later, Machts was again in a final with the Erfurters. This time it was about the GDR championship, in the Machts team, now competing as Turbine Erfurt, which BSG Chemie Leipzig met. At the end of the 1950/51 season, both teams had tied at the top of the former zone league, now renamed the DS-Oberliga (Oberliga des Deutschen Sportausschusses ). In the deciding game , Machts was reinstated in his regular position, and with 0: 2 there was another defeat. In the past season, Machts was only missing three league games and made 31 league appearances. In 1951/52, too, coach Hans Carl relied on his oldie, who is now 40 years old. This did not disappoint the trust placed in him, because this season he was only missing twice in 36 league games. In the second half of the season he was mainly used in midfield. Power played his last league season in 1952/53. In 30 of 32 point games he was again regularly as a left defender in the team. After leaving competitive sports, he was able to look back on 122 championship games in the zones / major league. He did not succeed in scoring as a permanent defender.
