Hans Proell

Hans Pröll (born January 11, 1922 in Freihausen ; † March 15, 2017 in Parsberg ) was a German lawyer and district administrator ( CSU ).

Johann Pröll grew up in Berching, where his parents ran a grocery store. He attended the seminary in Eichstätt and passed his Abitur in 1941 at the humanistic grammar school. In the same year he was drafted into the military and served in the air force. In 1945 he was taken prisoner of war, from which he was able to escape.

In 1946 he took up law studies at the University of Munich , which he completed in 1952 with the second state examination. He then worked as a lawyer in Bad Kissingen . In 1953 he ran for the office of district administrator of the Beilngries district , still politically independent . Pröll won the runoff election against the CSU candidate Franz X. Butterhof and became the youngest district administrator in Bavaria at the age of 31. In 1953 he also joined the CSU. He served as district administrator until 1972, when the district was dissolved in the course of the regional reform. The main focus of his work was road and school construction, industrial settlement and the maintenance of the clinics in Berching and Beilngries.

Pröll had been married since 1974, his wife Giesela comes from Hamburg. Pröll died in March 2017 and was buried in his home town of Berching.
