Hans Resel

Hans Resel (born September 7, 1861 in Hafnerbach ; † November 7, 1928 in Graz ) was an Austrian journalist and politician ( SDAP ).

Life

Hans Resel, a trained tailor, came to Graz in 1889 and became active in the political labor movement. In 1890 he founded the party newspaper Arbeiterwille , of which he was also the first editor.

politics

From 1897 to 1900 Resel was a member of the Styrian Landtag , from 1905 to 1907 he was a member of the Reichsrat . After the First World War he was a member of the Provisional National Assembly and later of the Federal Council.

He played an essential role in the founding of the Styrian Workers' Cyclists Association (today's ARBÖ ).

From November 6, 1918 until his death, Resel was a member of the Styrian regional government .
