Hans Rolf Maria Koller

Hans Rolf Maria Koller (born August 25, 1932 in Cologne ; † April 29, 2015 there ) was a German painter and art professor.

Live and act

Koller studied painting and fine art in Cologne for ten semesters with Wilhelm Teuwen and Friedrich Vordemberge , was appointed a master class student and, after graduating from 1955 to 1960, traveled through several European countries. Until his appointment in 1963 at the Cologne Werkschulen as a lecturer for life drawing and artistic basics , he worked as a freelance artist in his hometown of Cologne.

At the beginning of the 1970s he was appointed professor of painting and soon became known for his picture cycles consisting of picture chains, sometimes with total lengths of up to 100 meters.

He published the very extensive work chains on image carriers, as video, CD and DVD.

Koller died in 2015 at the age of 82. His grave is in the Kalker Friedhof in Cologne-Merheim (hall 25a no. 1/2).
