Hans Roth (* as Johannes Roth September 14, 1879 in Grindelwald ; † August 23, 1966 in Interlaken , resident in Grindelwald) was a Swiss politician (SP) .

Life

Hans Roth was born on September 14, 1879 in Grindelwald as the son of Johannes Roth and Elisabeth, born Brawand. In his professional career, Roth initially worked as a primary school teacher in Grindelwald, then as a secondary teacher in Interlaken.

Hans Roth married Elisabeth, the daughter of Peter Bernet, in 1909. He died on August 23, 1966, three weeks before he would have turned 87 in Interlaken.

Political career

Hans Roth, a member of the Social Democratic Party, began his political career as an Interlaken councilor . As a result, he represented his party from 1918 in the Bern Grand Council and between 1925 and 1955 in the National Council . There he acted, among other things, as a member of the Railway Concession Commission. The numerous parliamentary proposals he submitted often addressed the concerns of the mountain population.

He also founded the Heimatschutz-Vereinigung narrower Oberland and the Bernese Oberland Chamber of Commerce in Interlaken. Hans Roth emerged as a promoter of homework.
