Hans Rudolf von Scharnachthal († May 30, 1512 ) was mayor of the city ​​of Bern .

Life

Hans Rudolf was born to Niklaus von Scharnachthal and Anna Gruber. His first marriage was Verena von Bonstetten , and his second marriage was Philiberta von Lugny from Burgundy. In 1486 he became a member of the Grand Council of the City of Bern, in 1488 he became a member of the Small Council, and from 1507 to 1512 he was alternate mayor.

He was lord of Oberhofen, Krattigen , Schwanden ob Brienz and from 1501 lord of Hünigen . He received the accolade from King Maximilian I in Pisa in 1496 . In 1499 he commanded the Bernese auxiliary troops in the Swabian War. On May 23, 1509, he passed the judgment in the Jetzer trade .
