Hans Schack Knuth

Count Hans Schack Knuth-Conradsborg (born March 31, 1787 in Vetterslev , † November 5, 1861 in Roskilde ) was a Danish bailiff and chamberlain .

Life

Hans Schack Knuth came from the ancient Knuth family . His father was the chamberlain Baron Adam Christopher Knuth, his mother the Baroness Juliane Marie Knuth, née von Brockdorff.

On August 3, 1809 Knuth was second lieutenant in the royal body corps. In 1810 he became a cand.jur. In 1811 he passed the exam. In 1812 he became Premier Lieutenant á la suite in the Leibkorps.

On March 25, 1812 Knuth received the title of Count for himself and his descendants. On March 6 of the same year he became a chamberlain. Also in 1812 he went on a study trip to Iceland and the Faroe Islands for a year and a half. From 1823 to 1846 Knuth was Decisor on Greenland and Faroese trade.

In 1826 Knuth became chamberlain. In 1826 he took his leave of the crops. In 1831 Knuth became a magistrate in the Præstø department, and from 1836 to 1855 he was an administrator in the Frederiksborg department .

Knuth was a bearer of the Dannebrog Order .

Marriage and offspring

On March 3, 1825, Knuth married Frederikke Sophie Elisabeth de Løvenørn (* December 25, 1804, † April 10, 1889) in the Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen . The marriage had five children, all of whom had the title Grs: af or Countess
