Hans Schadek

Hans Schadek (born September 13, 1937 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German historian and archivist .

After attending the Schalke Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen , Hans Schadek studied history and German at the University of Freiburg from 1958 . After taking the state examination in 1965, he received his doctorate in 1970 under Josef Fleckenstein with a thesis on the families of the Sicilian and Aragonese kings in the 12th and 13th centuries. From 1982 to 2002 he was the head of the Freiburg City Archives .
