Hans Scheuerlein

Hans Scheuerlein (born August 18, 1919 in Pegnitz ; † May 10, 1981 ) was a German machinist, trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Scheuerlein attended elementary school, then did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and then worked as a model fitter in the Pegnitz factory of the Amag-Hilpert company . In 1938 he was appointed to labor service and the military, in 1939 to military service. From 1944 to 1948 he was a Soviet prisoner of war. After his release, he worked again for Amag-Hilpert, where he was foreman from October 1948. In 1950 he became chairman of the works council and a year later a member of the supervisory board. In 1959, Amag-Hilpert was taken over by the Klein, Schanzlin and Becker companies. Scheuerlein was chairman of the general works council there from 1962. In the meantime, he has held a number of local volunteer union positions. He belonged to the district management of theIG Metall in Bavaria , the tariff commission and the negotiating commission for the Bavarian metal industry. From 1956 to 1960 and again from 1966 to 1972 he was the second mayor of the city of Pegnitz. He was also a member of the district assembly of the Pegnitz district , which was opened up in the Bayreuth district during the 1972 district reform , and was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. From 1974 to 1979 he was finally a member of the Bavarian Senate .
